Israeli airstrikes resulted in at least 14 deaths and 43 injuries, according to the Syrian official news agency.

 According to state-run Syrian news agency SANA, Israeli airstrikes in central Syria late on Sunday left over a dozen people dead and at least forty injured.



According to SANA, there have been numerous explosions and "air defense engagements" in Syria's central region, notably in the governorates of Tartous and Hama, which have left numerous civilians dead.

When the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that it did not comment "on reports in the foreign media."

The number of fatalities close to the city of Masyaf, in the Hama governorate, has increased to at least 43, with six of those injured critically, according to Dr. Faisal Haidar, Director of the National Hospital in Masyaf, who spoke with SANA.

Just before 8.30 p.m. local time on Sunday, the Israeli enemy "launched an air aggression from the direction of northwest Lebanon, targeting a number of military sites in the central region," according to a military source quoted by the Syrian news agency.

Some of the missiles were intercepted and shot down by Syrian air defenses, according to the source.

According to SANA, the strikes caused damage to Masyaf's Wadi al-Uyun highway and started a fire that firefighters were attempting to put out.
